It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Herb on Sunday November 4th, 2018, at the age of 83, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Herb was the devoted husband of Nell for 60 years. Proud father of Yvonne Lamers (Marcel Brossi) & Sandra Lamers (Gerard Johnson).
Adored grandfather/opa of Shea MacInally & Alexandre Lavoie. Dear brother of Ben (Mia), Walter, Marty (Marion), Tony (Jackie), the late John (Mia), the late Henk (Annie), Thea (Lambert), Annie (Lawrence), Correy (Adrian), Nellie Lamers, Betsey (Omer) and brother in law of Mary Jessome (Ron), Grace Morton (Kevan). Herb will be lovingly remembered by all of his nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Herb was the proud owner of Rundle Garden Centre and founder of King West Garden Centre. He was a fiery Dutchman who revelled in working hard and enjoying life. Herb adored his family and was a friend to all that knew him. He was never without a joke and took every opportunity to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Please join with the family to share memories during visitation at Armstrong Funeral Home on Friday November 9th from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm.
A funeral service to celebrate Herb’s life will take place on Saturday November 10th, 12 noon in the chapel of Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, Ontario.
A private interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
