It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our loved mother, Nel, on Tuesday February 12th, 2019, at Hillsdale Estates.
Nel was the cherished wife of Herb for 60 years. Herb passed away November 4th, 2018 and they are now together again.
Proud mother of Yvonne Lamers & Sandra Lamers (Gerard Johnson).
Loved grandmother/oma of Shea MacInally & Alexandre Lavoie. Dear sister of Mary Jessome (Ron) and Grace Morton (Kevan). Sister in law of Ben (Mia), Walter, Marty (Marion), Tony (Jackie), the late John (Mia), the late Henk (Annie), Thea, (Lambert), Annie (Lawrence), Correy, (Adrian) Nellie Lamers, Betsey (Omer). Nel will be lovingly remembered by all of her nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Nel and Herb were the proud owners of Rundle Garden Centre and founders of King West Garden Centre. Nel and Herb enjoyed their family, business, friends and travel. Later in life, Nel was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. Herb was her faithful supporter who took tremendous care of her throughout their difficult journey with her illness.
Please join with the family to celebrate Nel’s life on Saturday February 16th, 2019 12noon at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King St E. Oshawa. Visitation will take place Saturday 11am, one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
